Premium Early Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Gold -Faros Single Estate”

The main factors that influence the quality of this type of olive oil are:

  • Unfiltered and Cold-pressed, preserving all the natural extracts and nutritional benefits (more rich in nutritional value than the filtered extra virgin olive oil)
  • This olive oil juice needs double the quantity of olives to produce the same quantity of olive oil;
  • It is the oil pressed with the first olives harvested olives that are green – not yet fully ripe – It is rich in Polyphenols (mainly oleocanthal & oleacin)-antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents, Vitamin E (Tocopherol), D, K, Omega 3, 6, 9 (oleic acid);
  • It has a low acidity (0.1-0.3% during production);
  • The cultivation is non intensive, the sun “brushes” each tree;
  • The trees are soiled with sea weed (from the sea surrounding the estate) and grape compost;
  • The olive grove is full of the local wild flora (lavender, thyme, oregano, sage, fennel, cistus);
  • Our olives are carefully selected by hand not to damage the fruits and trees;
  • We ensure the olive oil reaches the final customer keeping its nutritional characteristics (appropriate olive fruit collection, modern pressing facilities, analysis in accredited IOOC laboratories, storage conditions, packaging in dark glass bottles and transport in ideal temperatures);
  • Aromas and taste: fruity (apples and pears), nutty with a spicy touch;
  • Colour: green-gold, Variety: Adramitiani, Kolovi and Koroneiki;
  • Fine texture, mild, easy to digest;
  • Climatic conditions. Lesvos’ rocky soil and dry soil are influenced by the sun of the Aegean, which makes for an ideal climate.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Lesvos Island (0.1-0.5% acidity during production)

The main factors that influence the quality of the Lesvos Island Olive-Oil:

  • Olive tree varieties. Lesvos Island has unique olive tree varieties that do not exist in other olive producing areas. Such varieties are the so-called “kolovi”and the “adramytiani”, that yield an olive oil of exceptional quality and aromas;
  • The cultivation is non intensive,  the sun “brushes” each tree;
  • Cold-pressed, preserving all the natural extracts and nutritional benefits.
  • Climatic conditions. Lesvos’ rocky soil and dry soil are influenced by the sun of the Aegean, which makes for an ideal climate;

  • Aromas and taste: fruity (apples and pears) and nutty. Colour: gold, Variety: Adramitiani and Kolovi;
  • Fine texture, mild, easy to digest.

All of the above ultimately lead to the production of an olive oil of excellent quality.

HEALTH BENEFITS

The olives and olive oil are sources of Vitamin E (Tocopherol), D, K, polyphenols [mainly oleocanthal & oleacin (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents)] and omega 3, 6  and 9 (oleic acid, more than 70%).

Its many advantages and properties include treatment of cholesterol, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, keeping healthy bones, preventing artery clogging, cardiovascular disease, hair loss, dry skin and snoring.
